"The Dante Fascell Elementary School Concert" (Year Round)

For large population schools. THREE SHOWS:

PRE K TO GRADE 1 - first show - (around 8:45 or 9:00 am) - 30 minutes

GRADE 2 TO GRADE 3 - second show - (around 9:30 or 9:45) - 40 minutes

GRADE 4 TO GRADE 5 - third show - After lunch - one class period

COST OF CONCERT $1,000.00

Cost covers Dade, Broward, Collier and Lee Counties in Florida. Other Florida counties and states please add transportation, hotel accommodations and meals. Call for rates.

What's Included? Concert guidelines: please read thoroughly!

1st show: Traditional Hispanic Children's Music-Pre K-Grade 2.
Duration: 30 minutes. Delivery geared to a very young audience.

2st show: Traditional Hispanic Children's Music-Grade 2 to Grade 3.
Duration: 40 minutes. Delivery geared to a young audience.

3nd show: Traditional Hispanic Music-Grades 3-5
Duration: One class period. Delivery geared to the more mature student who is ready for more information on Hispanic culture as seen through its music.

Objectives:

The objectives of Grupo CAÑAVERAL's elementary school concerts are:

To teach the student inter-cultural awareness.
To demonstrate how children of other cultures have fun.
To develop in the student a sense of respect for ethnicity and ethnic manifestations.
To give the students the opportunity to develop the social skills proper of attending assemblies and theater performances including seemingly simple and common behavior skills such as:

respect for the performer's subject area
courtesy
silence
listening
following instructions
discipline
acknowledging the performer's efforts at the end of the presentations.

Activities included in Concerts by Grupo CAÑAVERAL:

For the first show: material delivery suitable for very young audiences
Hispanic American traditional children's songs in Spanish with explanations in English
Fingerplay and body movements
Audience participation
Games and dances
Sing-alongs

For the second shows: material delivery suitable for young audiences
Hispanic American traditional children's songs in Spanish with explanations in English
Fingerplay and body movements
Audience participation
Games and dances
Sing-alongs

For the third show: material suited for more mature students
Presenting traditional Hispanic American music in Spanish  with explanations in English.
Short historical background of Hispanic American music.
Demonstrating different Hispanic American folk instruments.
Demonstrating different Hispanic dances and rhythms.
Learning about the social impact of Hispanic American music.
Audience participation.

Duration and Scheduling:

One 30-minute show for Pre K to Grade 1 - Early morning
One 40-minute show for Grade 2 to Grade 3 - Early morning
One class period show for Grade 4 to Grade 5 - After lunch

NOTE: TO BE HELD IN CAFETORIUM or AUDITORIUM. GRUPO CAÑAVERAL WILL NOT PERFORM IN THE PLAYGROUND!
